What’s up in Israel

One of the things I was intrigued with by this news segment was the status of the Israeli people. If you watch the background in the clips, you see throngs of meager dressed people milling about during the middle of the day. Where are all the cars and offices in Israel? Aren’t these people supposed to be working at least part time instead of wandering about in public squares? Do they have “economic security”? When was the last time economic security was brought up as an issue nationwide in the States? Not since the Gerald Ford Administration, I think. Since that time, they’ve made it all about securing corporate jobs and domiciles. For the politically astute, that isn’t the same thing as economic security if you’re talking about the overall impact of a person’s contribution and taking in of sustainability — wherever you are living in this world.
