Here is an interesting argument from a Businessweek author on Net Neutrality.. It’s time to change the legal status of U.S. cable Internet providers from information services (what they are now) to telecommunications services. Any legal obstacles to overcome?
Do you see what this foreign country did here? To keep British government regulation of this telecommunications company going, they were decoupled and British Telecom became two business entities; thereby weakening the operating process, I think.
“..The telecom regulator in the U.K. broke up British Telecom, the old monopoly, into two separate companies: a common carrier that maintained the backbone of actual wires as a heavily regulated utility and a customer-facing Internet service provider that competed with other ISPs on that same backbone..”
