Black hole about to swallow up a clump of gas in Milky Way

A clump of gas the size of three Earths is about to get swallowed up by a black hole at the center of our galaxy this year, and it may flash brightly in x-rays. The Chandra telescope will be able to pick it up, as will an array of telescopes on Earth that are linked together.
